The 10 Strongest Pals in Palworld 1.0 — Ranked by Real Game Data

By Palworld Gaming Team · Updated 10 October 2026 · Palworld 1.0

Quick answer: Bellanoir and its variant Bellanoir Libero are the strongest Pals in Palworld 1.0 by raw data — both sit at 150 Attack in the 1.0 game files, ahead of Neptilius and Necromus (145) and Jetragon and Frostallion (140). Eight of the top ten cannot be bred from other Pals at all; they only hatch from their own kind, so the first one must always be caught wild.

What does "strongest" mean in Palworld 1.0?

We mean one thing and one thing only: base Attack, read straight from the Palworld 1.0 game files (the same PalCalc dataset that powers our breeding calculator). No community votes, no "feels strong in practice", no tier-list vibes. We ranked all 299 breedable Pals by their Attack stat and listed the top ten.

Attack is the single number that scales nearly every damage roll in the game, so it is the fairest one-stat ranking. It is not the whole picture — Frostallion Noct's 140 Attack plus 140 HP and 135 Defense arguably makes it the best all-round combatant — but as a measure of raw hitting power the ranking below is not an opinion. It is the data.

The 10 strongest Pals in Palworld 1.0, ranked

  1. Bellanoir Libero — 150 Attack, 120 HP, 100 Defense. The Dark-variant form of the game's first raid boss (Palworld's raid system debuted with Bellanoir, per ScreenRant) tops the entire game on raw Attack. It is also one of only two Pals in the top ten that is not locked to true breeding — more on that below. Full Bellanoir Libero data.
  2. Bellanoir — 150 Attack, 120 HP, 100 Defense. The original Bellanoir ties its Libero variant at the top of the 1.0 files. With 620 breeding power it is one of the highest-power Pals in the game, and — rare for this tier — it can hatch from a Bellanoir + Bellanoir Libero variant pairing as well as from its own kind. Full Bellanoir data.
  3. Neptilius — 145 Attack, 105 HP, 125 Defense. The highest-attack Water-line Pal in the 1.0 data, and second-toughest defensively on this list. True-breeding only: the combination table contains exactly one recipe — Neptilius + Neptilius. Full Neptilius data.
  4. Necromus — 145 Attack, 130 HP, 120 Defense. Tied with Neptilius on Attack but the tankier package of the two, with 130 HP backing it up. Also locked to true breeding. Full Necromus data.
  5. Jetragon — 140 Attack, 115 HP, 120 Defense. The legendary dragon most players have heard of sits fifth — still one of only two 140-Attack flying mounts on the list. Cannot be bred from other Pals in 1.0 (Jetragon + Jetragon is the only recipe). See our full Jetragon guide for the Alpha fight and breeding.
  6. Frostallion Noct — 140 Attack, 140 HP, 135 Defense. The single best stat line on the list: 140 Attack plus the highest HP and Defense of the top ten. Unlike its rivals it has a real breeding recipe — the 1.0 special combination Frostallion + Helzephyr hatches Frostallion Noct, one of the 77 hard-coded variant combos in the game files. Full Frostallion Noct data.
  7. Frostallion — 140 Attack, 140 HP, 120 Defense. Tied with its Noct variant on Attack and HP, just a touch less tanky. True-breeding only in 1.0 — the old cross-species recipes are gone, so Frostallion + Frostallion is the route. See our Frostallion guide for the Astral Mountains Alpha.
  8. Shaolong — 135 Attack, 140 HP, 120 Defense. The strongest Pal of the early-to-mid endgame pack, and the tankiest fighter outside the top four. True-breeding only. Full Shaolong data.
  9. Dandilord — 135 Attack, 125 HP, 110 Defense. Tied with Shaolong on Attack. Like the rest of the bottom half of this list, the 1.0 combination table gives it no cross-species recipe. Full Dandilord data.
  10. Bastigor — 130 Attack, 140 HP, 120 Defense. The last Pal above 130 Attack in the 1.0 files, and tied for the second-best HP on the list. True-breeding only. Full Bastigor data.

Why are the strongest Pals so hard to breed?

This is the real pattern in the data, and it matters more than any single ranking: eight of the ten strongest Pals cannot be bred from other Pals at all. We searched the entire 1.0 combination table (all 44,850 parent pairings): for Bellanoir Libero, Neptilius, Necromus, Jetragon, Frostallion, Shaolong, Dandilord and Bastigor, the only recipe is the Pal with itself. There are no clever early-game shortcuts to a 150-Attack monster — the first one must always be caught wild, which is exactly why each Pal in this series gets its own catch-and-fight guide.

The two exceptions are both variants, and both tell the same story. Frostallion Noct comes from the special Frostallion + Helzephyr combination (one of the 77 special combinations hard-coded in the game files), and Bellanoir also hatches from a Bellanoir + Bellanoir Libero variant pairing. Pocketpair's 1.0 design is clear: variant Pals sometimes have a shortcut, but raw top-tier strength is gated behind the wild catch.

Where do the strongest Pals spawn?

Every Pal on this list is an endgame acquisition — raid bosses, Wildlife Sanctuary populations and high-level wild spawns in the 1.0 endgame zones. Rather than repeat ourselves here, this guide links each Pal to its data page, and the Pals our readers ask about most already have dedicated guides in this series: Jetragon (level 50 Alpha, Mount Obsidian), Frostallion (Astral Mountains Alpha) and Shadowbeak (No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary). For anything not yet covered, check the Pal's data page first and verify any community recipe in the breeding calculator — every Early Access-era combination list is expired in 1.0.

How do you make a strong Pal even stronger?

Catching the Pal is step one; building it is step two. Because most of these Pals only true-breed, the path is: catch a male and a female, breed them together, and merge passive skills from the parents into the children — true-breeding is actually an advantage here, because you never fight an unwanted species in the egg. Our Palworld Breeding Guide (1.0) explains passive inheritance, IVs and the Cake economy in full, and Mutation & Awakening covers the 1.0 endgame systems that push an already-strong Pal further. For the bigger picture, the Best Pals in 1.0 page ranks the top fighters, workers and mounts per job from the same game files.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the strongest Pal in Palworld 1.0?

Bellanoir and Bellanoir Libero are tied at 150 Attack in the 1.0 game files — the highest Attack of all 299 breedable Pals. Neptilius and Necromus follow at 145, then Jetragon, Frostallion and Frostallion Noct at 140.

Can you breed Bellanoir in Palworld 1.0?

Yes — Bellanoir is one of only two Pals in the top ten that is not locked to true breeding. The 1.0 combination table gives it two recipes: Bellanoir + Bellanoir, and the variant pairing Bellanoir + Bellanoir Libero. Its Libero variant, however, is true-breeding only.

Why can't I breed Jetragon or Neptilius from other Pals?

Palworld 1.0's combination table is the answer: exactly 1 of 44,850 parent pairings produces each of them — the Pal with itself. Pocketpair locked the strongest Pals behind true breeding, so the first one must be caught wild. Any guide showing cross-species recipes for them is pre-1.0 and expired.

Is Frostallion Noct the best overall fighter?

On paper it has the best stat line on this list: 140 Attack, 140 HP and 135 Defense, plus a real breeding recipe (Frostallion + Helzephyr). Attack ranking puts it fifth, but for players who value survivability as much as raw damage, it is arguably the best endgame combatant in Palworld 1.0.

What makes Frostallion Noct special?

It is the strongest variant Pal in Palworld 1.0 and one of the 77 special combinations: Frostallion + Helzephyr hatches Frostallion Noct. It also has the highest HP (140) and Defense (135) of the ten strongest Pals, making it the tankiest top-tier fighter in the game.
