PocketPair is preparing for the next phase of their popular open-world survival game Palworld. Developers are hiring comic artists to show the cuteness and fun of their manga launch. The game is not going anywhere else since its launch earlier this year, which instantly sparked controversy with the headline “Pokemon with Guns.” Many new generations are obsessed with anime and manga.
The developers of the game are actively looking for artists to sketch the comic, which is said to be full of cuteness and fun. Do note that Palworld expects the comic to have a heartbreaking vibe. The game has sold more than fifteen million until now, making it one of the biggest games to break records on Steam and becoming the third-party biggest launch on Xbox.
Palworld is ready to drop its manga.
It is to create the storyline for the game that will accompany the game, but it also allows developers to further explore the potential of the game. Similar to Call of Duty, Palworld may insert these comics within the game, which will be used for the events in the game. It first comes to light when PocketPair CEO, Takeru Mizobe, shows the limelight, in which he says the game allows players to control their custom character through an open world filled with pals.
This report was first broken by X’s handle @MangaMoguraRE (Manga & Anime News), which reported the company was looking to hire a comic artist. Later, the official Palworld handle said they were hiring comic artists. Both confirmed there will be some storyline to the game that is said to feature the Lifmunk, Tanzee, and Depresso. Further, the open gullet is said to appear in this.
This job posting was unexpected. If you are one of those who have the talent of drawing sketches with the pre-requirements, you can apply for this position. You do need to send a sample that could be a rough draft in progress or something that is already published alongside your resume so they can check how well you are fit for the position. With all the details, PocketPair has also shared what they are expecting, giving applicants a basic idea of it.
Not to mention, as a comic artist, you have to have a good foundation in panelling, writing, visual storytelling, and character poses to convey your story through comics. No wonder PocketPair lacks staff and actively hires new employees while outsourcing much development. The game indeed has unpredictable success and early access. They will no doubt be hiring the masses with a lot of funds to spare, as they have already spent upwards of one billion Japanese yen on the game.
As of now, there are no important details shared; it is still in planning for a mysterious race of creatures of all shapes and sizes. This is not the first time that any game has made comics or TV series; LEGO has its movie, LOL has its own, and COD has comics alongside a storyline through its game series. However, it remains unclear what PocketPair plans to do with these communities, whether they are using it for their social media or something bigger like Manga, as the report shared.
At this moment, the budget of the game is way too tight, and despite the massive success, they are not extending their staff or opening a new office. Instead, they prefer to remain small. There are a lot of things that PocketPair is planning, including expanding to a new platform and adding new features in future updates. With the massive success of the game, they are unable to keep up with the success of the game.
Rest assured, there is a chance of being chosen by Palworld, by extension, which is reportedly in the Palworld development team. One of the animation developers is a self-taught hobbyist who works part-time in a convenience store. Not to mention it was scouted online when their work impressed, and if they can scout for their talent online, then that is stopping you from shooting your shot and handling your work.
