PocketPair did confirm the summer update during the ID@Xbox Showcase event. With the new trailer, there are several things that we can expect from the game, including the pals, weapons, and New Island. Studio did say that this update will introduce players to the vast Open-World of Palworld, which allows players to expand their base.
This update will be a major update that brings plenty of things for players to explore with the SUMMER Update. Recently, the player base of the game has had a major downfall, with the new update game expected to bring those non-excitant players or players who were temporarily not playing the game back to the game to explore new things. Today in this article, I will be sharing a guide for the Palworld Summer Update.
What’s New Coming with the Palworld Summer Update
Below, we have attached the trailer for the Palworld Summer Update following their roadmap. The community has been waiting for many things, including the most exciting aspect of the game as it rotates around the pals. There will be dozens of new pals—at least 50 new pals—to be added to the game by the end of this year.
Previously, players who have been constantly following the game on the Discord Community have shared the unreleased pals by extracting the game’s file, which is said to be available with the summer update. Furthermore, players are going to experience more NPCs and new types of shows in these biomes, which make up an entirely new island in the Palpagos.
Despite the player number slowly decreasing, the developer is putting effort into adding new content for the Open-World Survival game. In addition to this, Studio is outsourcing and taking help from Microsoft’s Xbox division to make the game more stable ahead of its release later this year. The game is available via the Xbox Game Pass, which is key to promoting these New Pals and the game as they have been leading the biggest month in terms of playtime on Xbox.
New pals with a summer update
For different areas, there will be four new palettes: the Frog Pal, Turkey Pal, Mushroom Pal, and Bushi-like Pal, whose unique design has sparked the interest of the Palworld Community.
- The Frog looks like a black-belt Kung-fu master pal, suspected to be a water-type pal.
- The turkey-ostrich hybrid has an earth-based attack.
- Squirrel with a mushroom cap, which looks like a miniature version of Relaxasurarus.
- Lastly, a mysterious floating dog.
At this point, we don’t know the official names of these pals, their abilities, or any additional context for what we can expect from them; however, we do know the general outline of what is to come with the summer update. This time around, these new pals don’t seem to be inspired by the Pokemon game; they fit the aesthetic of the game.
New Island and the Weapons
Alongside the introduction of these pals, there are also new locations, confirming the previous rumors that the new island with more biome types is true. In the end, we have a glimpse of a breathtaking new island that seems to be heavily inspired by Japan: a shrine with a cherry blossom tree and traditional Torii gates that are probably the new Tower Boss in the game.
Furthermore, the game is also going to have two new weapons. During the trailer for the summer update, the character was holding the Flamethrower, which likely caused damage over time with its burning flames, and the Futuristic Burst Rifle, which was suggested to be devastating weapons that could potentially change the combat dynamics of the game.
The new mode isn’t coming with the summer update.
Recently, Studio confirmed that the PvP Arena wasn’t coming with the summer update. PocketPair mistakenly announced the new combat section, which was said to be part of the summer update. This is indeed one of the most anticipated modes that is going to be introduced with the Summer Update, the PvP mode, which allows players to combat 3v3 battles using their trained pals, which is expected to be available later this year.
Palworld Summer Update Release Date
Of course, the game continues to further add new functionality and the pals to the game. PocketPair, the developer of Palworld, hasn’t shared a timeline for all these features yet. Still, many things have yet to come, like the ability to cross-play between Steam and Xbox. Since the patch update has been set for summer 2024, it is most likely that this update will be released sometime in June, and the exact data is likely to follow sometime in May.
