In the tempting world of Palworld, players have now started an exciting journey to befriend a diverse range of creatures that we call Pals. As these loyal companions come in various forms, each equipped with unique strengths and weaknesses, players are in a dilemma about which one to choose. However, as some of you well know, Dragon stands as an immense, powerful Pal type, but there is a catch: weakness.
I mean, even the mighty dragons have their chilies heels, but alongside their weaknesses, some disappoint players. And there is no guidance for players on how to exploit the weaknesses of dragons and act accordingly. For such a scenario, here I tried to figure out and get the weakness a dragon-type pal comes with, along with how a genuine player can overcome such weakness. So, let’s discuss.

What are dragon types and their weaknesses?
While specific information on the Dragon Sub-Type in Palworld is yet to be revealed, many games with an elemental system typically categorize dragons based on their secondary element. From such observation, I found these different dragon types you will find in Palworld.
- Fire Dragon: These dragon-type pals breathe fire and possess fiery scales that act as formidable opponents.
- Ice Dragon: It seems master of cold as Ice dragons wield powerful ice attacks that often reside in snowy regions.
- Electric Dragon: This one combines dragon night with the spark of electricity that unleashes stunning electric attacks.
- Poison Dragons: One of the popular dragon types that utilize toxins and poisonous breath in combat, making them dangerous adversaries.
Now the point comes: even if dragon-type pals have such a variety of strengths, why do people stick with their weaknesses? For this, I tried to find out and found that all dragons share a common weakness with the ice element. This weakness originated from their fiery nature, as ice extinguishes fire and disrupts their internal heat regulation. And so on, ice pals’ attacks get more effective against dragons.Â
Must See: Best Pals in Palworld
What specific dragon types have weaknesses.
Above, I have mentioned the basic weaknesses of dragon-type pals, but unless you know the weakness of a specific dragon-type pal, you cannot level up. But the truth is that at present, due to the initial phase, specific information on individual dragon species and their weaknesses is still under wraps. But based on common elemental interactions, I found some potential weaknesses for each dragon-type pal. So, below are specific dragon-type weaknesses that you should know about.
Fire Dragon (Fiery, red scales) | Ice (Ice extinguishes fire) |
Ice Dragon (Crystallized body, icy breath) | Fighting (Physical attacks can bypass strong defences) |
Electric Dragon (Sparking scales, electric attacks) | Ground (Ground absorbs electricity) |
Poison Dragon (Noxious fumes, poisonous breath) | Ground (Ground absorbs toxins) |
Strategies to Exploit Dragon Weaknesses
Knowing your opponent’s weaknesses is half the battle, especially when facing powerful foes like dragons. For such a concept, below I am sharing some strategies to exploit dragon weaknesses and gain the chance to come back.
Unleash Ice-Type Pals to Rescue
Dragons, with their fiery nature, particularly have chances of ice-type attacks. In this case, prioritize bringing ice-type pals like a glacial yeti or frosteon to your team. You should look for moves like ice beams that can deal super-effective damage, significantly impacting even formidable dragons.
Utilise ground-type pallets.
However, this option is not universally effective but comes in handy against specific dragon types. Their moves, like earthquakes and mud shots, deal significant damage to electric and poisonous dungeons. For such a thing, consider deploying pals like Sand Mote against electric dragons and poison dragons.
Make a try with Brute Force.
Fighting-type pals can be surprisingly effective against certain dragons. Like Ice Dragons, they often boast high defense and physical attacks from fighting-type pals like Close Combat. To bypass these defenses and deal substantial damage, consider using the Pug List or Kung Fu Panda to beat the Dragon Weakness.
Final Thoughts
Overall, Dragons through Powerful are not invincible in Palworld. But through a proper understanding of their inherent weaknesses to ice-type attacks and exploiting their potential weaknesses based on sub-type, you gain a significant edge in battle. However, consider that exploiting weaknesses is just one piece of the puzzle, and always consider your pal’s overall capabilities to adapt each strategy.
