Dungeons: How They Work And How They Can Be Fixed

If you have started looking for Dungeons in Palworld, then you may have ended up with dead ends. The location of the dungeons does hold some natural resource deposits and even some chests.

There are many things about the Dungeons that the game does not introduce to players in the first hands. Today in this article, I will be sharing how Dungeons work in the Palworlds and how players can easily clear them in the most efficient way possible. Without further ado, let us take a closer look at this.

How Dungeons Work in Palworlds

Dungeons in the Palworld are located across the map of the game, but they are not always accessible. When you go exploring the dungeons, you can keep track of which paths you have not been down so that you do not end up exploring places that you have already been.

In the game, there are two unusual types of dungeons: boss dungeons and cave dungeons. Both dungeons have timers that players can view at the entrance to check the level of the boss inside the cave. Talking about the timer, it is on the front, which indicates how long it will be until the interior of the Dungeon gets reset.

  • Boss Dungeons are unique as they are easy to identify because of the glowing entrance marker. They are good for finding resources and making new friends. By taking out the Boss Pals, you can earn some ancient civilisation parts, coming back to these Dungeons when their timer is reset to fight the boss again for more resources.

The cave dungeons are different from boss dungeons as they use a cave system and room set to create larger cave dungeons that are sprawling and filled with many pals, enemies, and resources.

  • The cave dungeons are often located on the side of a huge rock formation that looks like a giant black void, which serves as the entrance to the dungeon.

At the end, there is a boss fight, but players do need to do some exploring if they need resources like palladium fragments, sulphur, or coal. Players can get these resources above the ground, of course, but palladium is in minor quantities outside, and sulphur and coal are found in the more difficult regions on the map.

Note: When visiting the Dungeon cave and finding it closed, the exploration time reached zero. The cave will then be closed off for some time until it comes back with a refreshed expiration timer. I recommend players check the Mark of the Dungeons on the map, so you do not need to work around between nearby options.

How to Navigate the Caves in the Dungeons in Palworld

For me, this is among the most reliable ways to find these resources early in the game in the dungeons. Apart from these natural resources, players can also find entirely different sets of pals wandering through these dungeons that you might not normally see in the nearby region where the cave is located. I would recommend players look for caves that are also a wonderful way to find pals that are only beneficial for players at night, like Daydream.

  • Do keep track of where you have already explored, because it is easy to get around as the human enemies and pals will be refiled after you leave the place and come back, even if just for a few minutes. So do not rely on the rooms being empty, as they have been empty.
  • Speed up your exploration, you can use the Mountable Pals to move faster, similar to overworld exploration. However, you do need to get off your pal over and over again because the doorways between the cave rooms are small, so it may end up losing the speed that you get. You can try sleek and fast-grounded pals to get things done, like the Univolt.

Before going ahead, I would like to give an example: if you have been looking for new pals at your base or if you are looking to complete your pal deck, then do ensure you do some spelunking. I have pointed this out because they are especially easy to do and have many caves.

How to Find Alpha Boss Pals

If you find the gigantic tree in the centre of the cave, then you have found the Alpha boss. These are several types of pals that you find here; they are randomly selected from the pool of more ordinary pals from the region where the cave is located.

By coming here, it is said to be a wonderful way to catch the Alpha boss of the ordinary pals in the game. Once you defeat the boss, you can proceed behind the tree to the final room, where two chests are located, to gain rewards that are not usually found in the open world.

Note: These are not being shared between the multiple players in the co-op.

In the centre, there will be a glowing crystal, which will serve as a warp point that will take you back outside in front of the cave entrance. The dungeon layout is set ahead of time based on the selection of predetermined layouts. So, if you are dungeoning in order to encounter boss pals quickly, keep an eye out for this particular cave layout to go straight to the boss room.

If you find the two-way split with a torch-lit patch on the left and a waterlogged path on the right, then always take the right path. This indeed funnels you through a few more rooms, which are full of arches and bridges, before bringing you to the boss room on the fast pals and ignoring other distractions that could be there in less than a minute. Although you can always return to the dungeon to find that the cave entrance has been closed off.
